Spider Veins

Sclerotherapy is a method of treating unwanted blood vessels, often present on the legs of adults.  Spider veins are smaller vessels, and often have a red or bluish color. Varicose veins are larger vessels that may be raised above the skin and often are associated with pain and burning.

Dr. Stoller injects a hypertonic saline solution which is a concentrated solution of salt and water.  The solution collapses the vessels and they are resorbed by the body over several weeks.  One or more sessions are required for the spider veins to disappear.  It is not necessary to wear support hose following the injections.
